I must state first of all that I love to listen to Chris Bowater "live", there is something about his ministry that communicates the urgency and importance of praise and worship to me. Unfortunately 'In The Stillness' doesn't seem to reflect this rare ability. I listened to this album in the stillness, in the morning, in the evening and no matter how many time I played it, I still couldn't work out what Chris was trying to convey to his listeners - it doesn't have the same spontaneity and freshness of recordings such as 'The Highest Honour'.  I found 'In The Stillness' very hard to get into. It is impossible to choose a favourite track as they all seemed to run into each other. I read through the song sheet and found that the words were beautiful, some being from old hymns, the music also was soulful and soothing.  But somehow they didn't gel.
