Chris is described in the accompanying blurb as "..the Bay area's own gospel artist," and while there may be some locals who might want to challenge that, there's no doubting his pedigree. Formerly a member of the Motown/Mojazz roster and a well known pop artist in the secular scene, Perkins found God at the end of the '90s and has put out several collaborative sets before this solo effort. What you get is unsurprisingly high quality soul pop with a classy sheen. "Easy To Love", "Blowin' In The Wind" and "Where Do We Go From Here?" cry out for radio airplay and it's no shock to learn that this album has gone down a storm Stateside. It deserves to do equally well here.
