The latest Australian church to offer its praise and worship music to the wide world, CCC Westside has gone to some trouble to present the album in a professional manner; full song lyrics, good sleevenotes, photos of the main protagonists and the music is perfectly acceptable, if not too memorable. It's mostly the work of music pastor and pianist Grant Windle, who also shares the majority of the vocal duties. There are some rather abrupt endings on one or two tracks, which spoil things somewhat, and most of the delivery is definitely of the power praise variety. That having been said, thankfully the female singer Rosemary Oxenford doesn't consider herself as the second coming of Darlene Zschech. In fact, her voice has a bit of Julie Miller about it. One song stands out, "By Grace", a guitar driven mid tempo worship song, sensitively sung by Rosemary. Methinks there's some excellent music in these Queenslanders, their next album might be a rather good one. This is a promising debut.
