Recorded live at the Christian Life Centre in Birmingham and featuring a complete set of original songs written by musicians and worship leaders in the church, 'Born To Love You' is a rich feast of new worship songs. Five worship leaders take lead vocal duties bringing different flavours to the proceedings and the church are to be commended for producing an original worship sound and not going the easy route of simply imitating Hillsongs or Soul Survivor! There are so many highlights so let me tell you about some of them. The funky driving "Praise Him" is a celebration and Simon Foster's singing really lets loose in fine fashion (Fab fact: Simon once represented Ireland in the Eurovision song contest!). At the rockier end of things "Without Faith" erupts with some strong power chords and an anthemic chorus. I also really liked the jangling acoustic "Once I Was Lost" and the beautiful worshipful ballad "My Lord I Come To You". Overall if you're looking for new worship material, this is jam packed with fresh stuff. CLC are to be commended for developing a local worship team with the gifting to make a national impact.
