It is the message behind this three-track CD that makes the impact. Recorded to mark the 200th anniversary of the passing of the Act which abolished the North Atlantic slave trade, with all proceeds going to charity The title song, sung by Stoke-on-Trent-based Cliff G and featuring Simon Jones and Christine Bates, if being judged on musical quality alone, leaves no lasting impression or desire to hit the repeat button. The vocals are poor, as is the recording quality, and the melody unimpressive. A second track "Child Slavery Song" is of no significant musical merit either. A great cause but a poor CD.
