It's been out a year now but Dalton took his time getting Cross Rhythms a review copy (amazing when you consider where he lives! Ed). One of British gospel's exciting new wave of artists, Dalton has a warmly soulful voice, the songs, though lyrically rather dull, are melodically and rhythmically strong and the couple of tracks with the COGIC Choir produce definite goose-pimples. It's a shame a little more care couldn't have been taken on the production (the out-of-tune guitar on "People Get Ready" and the woefully flat female vocalist duetting with Dalton on "That's What Love Is" are quite painful). But Dalton's still a man to hear. Hope you caught him on the Gloria Gaynor radio show.
