This is a CD/DVD double disc featuring the popular American CCM man in concert at the Alabama Theatre and contains a number of David's well known songs, some new songs and some classics. Notably he includes the American national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner" thankfully managing to avoid descending into sycophantic nationalism, producing instead an arrangement that, along with another enduring song "How Great Thou Art", is creative and exciting. Whilst backed by a band that is slicker than Brylcreme, the DVD puts the focus very much on David, not surprising given his vocal talents, a voice that is both smooth and powerful, with an astonishing range, well suited to American-style grandiose pop that he produces. There are gospel overtones too particularly on ballad numbers such as "Already There", which I feel does make some of the album less accessible, unless you like that particular style. It is great that the album finishes with perhaps his best song, "The End Of The Beginning", an anthemic beauty about witnessing to a guy on a plane - sounds mundane but the song most definitely is not. Overall, a polished and inspiring release.

I have trouble hearing David's beginning word of Gentle Savior and Legacy of Love, so maybe now and then the music was too loud. One of my friends thought so, but I would never hesitate to purchase any music with David singing. My granddaughter loves Virtuoso; she is 13. What a great gift that man has. Mickey

I love David Phelps and all he stands for. I do have a comment on this DVD. I feel the music is too loud and you can't hear David's voice as we should. His beautiful voice and his message need to be heard. Sorry if this offends anyone.
