"Deeper", released as a single in May, notched up Delirious?' biggest chart success to date. The d:boys have now re-released the song, but this time in an EP format, so with three extra, exclusive tracks into the bargain, there's no excuse for whingeing about having bought it first time around! The radio-friendly title track is a combination of a toe-tapping guitar riff coupled with an infectious melody line. Its power pop sound contrasts strongly with the second track "Summer Of Love" which is altogether more intense and wistful and reminiscent in both sound and style to a lot of U2's early stuff. "Touch" adds yet another dimension to this EP, giving a taster of what may prove to be a new direction for the band. The final track, "Sanctify (Live @ Wembley)" is an anthem of epic proportions; a real 'lighters in the air' song. Martin Smith's vocals, brimming with vulnerability, capture the mood of the lyrics and here no-one can miss their message. Delirious? have shown the cynics in the music industry that a band can be 'religious' and still produce quality music. 'Deeper' is a perfect example of this.
