If someone were to try and explain the Winans' family tree, it might read like a biblical genealogy, but in this case it would need to include BeBe, CeCe, Vicki and Mario amongst many other Grammy Award winners. Delores Winans is better known as Mom Winans, and is the original matriarchal Eve of the Winans family and a Queen of Gospel Music. Delores is well known for having recorded with her Adam, David 'Pop' Winans who also sneaks a duet in on this album. For a lady nearing her seventh decade of life she has retained a remarkable level of elegance and beauty, as well as vocal talent. This is a collection of 12 classic public domain gospel hymns including "Blessed Assurance" and "The Old Rugged Cross" that hasn't been rehashed but lovingly recreated with the care and passion of a loving mother with her babies. The project was originally suggested by her daughter CeCe, but refined by producer Dana Reed, and it took them two days to work through the list of proposed songs for the album. On track six Mom joins with Jason Crabb of the Southern gospel Crabb Family, on a more up-tempo number. The entire album oozes class and smooth soulful refinement that has come from many years of worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth.
