Though Donna has been leading worship for around 20 years and was a founding member of the group Nu Image, this is her debut solo album. Many songs were co-written with producer and guitarist Noel Robinson and recorded live at Oasis Church, Colliers Wood, South London. A live album sometimes means the vocals aren't always as perfect as expected from a recording studio, but here they capture and carry the intimacy and emotion of the moment. The vocal performance and the song writing is mature and dynamic, and possibly amongst the best England has to offer within this genre though still lacking when comparing with the range and presence of the Clark Sisters, or the power of Jocelyn Brown, or the delicacy of CeCe Winans. But here is a more down-to-earth offering, with intensity and inspiration. Donna is not afraid to pen songs with few words, and repeat them many times as if drawing out extra meaning and purpose from them. "To Behold You" and "Rain" do this to good effect. The backing band and choir are solid and dependable, though without ever stealing the limelight or removing focus from the lyrics. It's a shame to wait until the last track for any kind of guitar solo though! More variety of tempo, groove and style would improve the appeal of a follow up.

Donna is also a songwriter and has co-written songs such as Rain, I Believe, One Hope. She has co-written many of the songs on Noel Robinson and Nu Image’s album Garments of Praise.

Donna has the ability to compose heartfelt lyrics and melodies that capture worship to the King and also to lead people to that place.

When Heaven Breaks In was recorded live at Oasis Church, South London.

There are 10 original songs on this album. The title track, When heaven breaks in, was inspired by a sermon Donna’s Pastor gave one Sunday morning. He spoke about worship that touches heaven and how God reciprocates by touching the earth with the miraculous. Donna says, “Heaven touching the earth is not reserved for the church setting but for every day of our lives...”

Every song is has strong, heartfelt lyrics mixed with harmonies and great musicianship from all involved.

There are also duets with Lara Martin on the song Fearless. Donna co-wrote with Lara on the songs Power of your love and Rain.

Donna is also the vocal co-ordinator for Kingdom Worship Movement (KWM), a global ministry that sees its responsibility to enhance the local church in worship through teaching, empowerment, development and training in all aspects of music and the relevant skills needed to apply the Kingdom mandate within a locality.
