Already a major gospel hit, a Cross Rhythms review of this CD is overdue. Here Donny
brings together a mixture of hymns and songs, some of which are self-penned while others are by other well known Christian artists, eg, Michael W Smith. To get the show off the ground Donnie starts this impressive two CD presentation with Robin Mark's "Days Of Elijah" and its pounding anthemic-like chorus. Recorded live on July 16th in 2004 at Rockwood Church in Virginia, USA before a 5000 plus audience, on this particular recording Donnie has somehow captured the ambience of a live event and the listener is easily caught up in the sense of being at the actual event. There are several medley sections throughout but one of the stand out sets must be the version of Rich Mullins' "Awesome God " with its Caribbean-tinged musical style and Donnie turning his vocal talents to linguistic gymnastics by singing in different languages, Russian and German to name but two. There is also a wonderful atmospheric rendition of Kelly Carpenter's "Draw Me Close". At different stages Donnie is also joined by guest heavyweights Richard Smallwood, Dottie Peoples and Joann Rosario and finishes the CD with a duet with Kirk Franklin. With chunking Hammond organ, grooving brass section and big choir we have an all round gospel display.

All of your song's are very inspiring to me.
Especially, in difficult times, tests and trials.

Do you sing at weddings, funerals etc.?
What is the cost to have you appear to sing?

I hope to see you and Cece in miami in November.
If it is the Lord's will.

Have a blessed evening brother McClurkin.
