Emmanuel Christian Centre is the church led by Doug Williams who back in the day was the original frontman for the groundbreaking '70s R&B gospel band Paradise. Doug's London church is certainly full of musical talent and they have put together a worship album with a strong contemporary gospel feel and although it's a studio recording it manages to maintain a very live feel. There's loads of good stuff here like worship ballads "Lord You Are My Song", "Living Water" and "New Heart". The title cut and "He Reigns" both have good grooves but my only criticism would be that there isn't anything here that really gets me off my feet. I love the acoustic R&B of closer "Brighter Day" but wanted slightly more upbeat material because this has a tendency to be extremely polished and accomplished but just a little samey.
