If you didn't already know, Liverpool's Frontline Church is a still expanding fellowship where clearly the Spirit is powerfully at work. This studio album got released in 2003 but it's taken a goodly while to arrive at Cross Rhythms Towers. The gone-but-not-forgotten Liverpool rockers Supervision were based at Frontline so it's not surprising that the band's Ian Finch offers a couple of songs and some excellent guitar work. In fact it's a shame that Finchley didn't offer more vocals than that heard on "You Have Rescued Me" because a couple of the vocalists here don't stand up too well to the demands of the CD listening public. Also doing covers works fine in live worship but no one is going to put Rachel Gillard's rendition of "Beautiful One" in the same league as the Tim Hughes original. All in all, not too bad though I'm sure this amazing church has a better album in there, awaiting recording and release.
