Gospel On Demand are two Californian cousins Matt Satterfield (PCP) and Greg Tabers (MC G) who have chosen hip hop as the best way to reach people with the Gospel. Not a bad effort, though as I've said elsewhere, these days it's really hard to avoid falling into the lyrical and musical clichés of those who have travelled the road before. Can't fault the ministry content of this album and musically there are flashes of brilliance where everything comes together. The opening cut "Boom" expresses the explosive changes that happen when we encounter Christ and it really works! Another big song here is "Typical Christian" which matches the duo's rapping skills with some soulful singing. This happens again on "Sho Nuf Time" where some soulful elements are introduced. "Attitude" has a frantic rhythmic attack and uncompromising message against sin which is typical of an album where ministry is paramount. Gospel On Demand turn in a pretty solid debut with some impressive moments.
