It was the simple liner note, “All instruments by G Reed”, which struck me. For there’s all kinds of deft playing here, from the mandolin and stunning guitar runs on “Get To Where You’re Going”, the fluid piano lines on “Thief In The Night”, the full on rock guitar on “My 15 Minutes” not to mention drums that are clearly real not programmed. It doesn’t stop there. Graham’s voice carries a nice line in laid back poignancy while his songwriting weaves images of transcendent faith and human pain with exemplary skill. Presumably the song “Rand For My Heart” indicates he’s from South Africa. I want to know more.
