This is Australian Burns' third set of songs for kids. They're aimed for the Key Stage 3 age-group it seems (seven to 10 years old) and are bouncy and captivating sing-along songs which capture the imagination and give a good foundation for worship. With Johnny's own skills being put to use on the vocals and keyboards, a bunch of enthusiastic kids joining in under Elizabeth Worsley's direction and some great rhythm and horn sections, this is good up-beat stuff. There are plenty of repetitive lyrics, some occasionally zany images ("Jesus is the Boomerang King/He'll return in all his power" and "Unreal banana peel/Jesus is alive", for example) and unmistakeably Aussie instrumentation (the opening track features a wonderful didgeridoo solo by John Dickson) - all you need, in fact, for a great praise party. If you want your kids to love Jesus more than "my teddy bear, my monster truck, my puppy dog and my rubber duck" (from "Most Of All"), then here's a good place to start them off.
