I was never entirely convinced with Johnny Markin's AOR albums. They were competent rather than scintillating and just didn't compare with the big budget offerings of America's finest. But now Johnny has formed a new band and with Paul Cruickshank (guitar, harmonica and BVs), Steve Lawson (bass) and Alex Cook (drums) moves into an acoustic orientated rock groove a bit like Crowded House. Strong hooks, some passionate lyrics, (the song about the fallibility of human heroes "Fallen Hero" particularly caught the ear) and a 6-song EP which represents a creative metamorphosis for the ex-patriot Canadian.
