Here's a musical treat from the youth ranks of Kettering's Salvation Army. A total of 18 tracks of both choral singing and instrumentals performed by the Corp's Singing Company and the Young People's Band, respectively. Each group is made up of local church members aged between around seven and 17. I've got to say, it's a creatively put-together recording, with plenty of musical diversity. So there are songs and tunes written by the likes of Graham Kendrick (the title cut), Matt Redman (two pieces), Geoff Bullock (the wonderfully played '"The Power Of Your Love") and numerous other contemporary worship output, along with an interpretation of a medieval poem, a traditional African song and more. Credit is in part due to experienced musical directors Paul Nash and Carolyn Woodman, leaders of the band and choir respectively, along with arranger Paul Sharman, who all do a great job in bringing together this set. Helpfully included in the sleevenotes is some background info on each track. The calibre of musicianship is first class and the result is a highly appealing and truly worshipful recording.
