Californian Landry has been around for years making independent albums but it's taken producer Sean Hill (Jamie Grace) to take his considerable singing and songwriting talent and launch them onto a national and maybe even international stage. For these songs are brimming over with radio-friendly hooks, all manner of poptastic studio effects and even on a song like "Feedback" some layered vocal harmonies coming on like a funky '90s boy band. But if all that sounds like Landry might be a spiritual lightweight going no further than "God's love is great" you're in for a treat. One respected reviewer called Landry's songs "theologically astute" while the curls on his voice on the close of "Fly" show him to be one of the best singers who hasn't developed his skills in an African American church. "Fade Out" is a reflection on how we might be remembered when we die while on "Indian Summer" Landry is joined by his fiancé Kelsey Hicks as they sing about the fears of the permanence of marriage in our modern world. This has to be one of the best pop albums of this or any year. . . just wait 'til you hear it on Cross Rhythms radio!
