Mississippi rapper Larry P is on a mission to spread the message about his spiritual rescue. This debut solo album starts with Larry's testimony in "My Story". He keeps things pretty clear and simple (the dual story of "John & Susie", reminding us that "if you ain't got Jesus, you ain't got nothing" followed by the nicely constructed "For Every Tear" encouraging us to "let go and let God". There's a wide range of beats and flavas going on throughout the project (compare "The Gambling Problem" and the standout epic, synthy sounding "Kinda Different") with, mainly, a dirty south approach but with some Midwestern nods. One of the focuses of the album is hope, found in "P.U.S.H", with a rolling soulful flow to pray until something happens while "Don't Fall For It" and "Stay Positive" also bring encouraging messages. A real grower of a CD.
