For some reason I wasn't expecting a lot from this debut from Huddersfield-based Lisa Jayne Hoyle. But I was bowled over by the quality of her voice (think of a cross between Adele and Norah Jones) and by her songwriting gift. Lisa's piano is the foundation stone of her accompaniments while producer James Grover has done a good job in adding texture and dynamics to bring out the poignancy and occasional grandeur of Lisa's best songs. James even pops up to sing on "Found". Particularly moving is "I Know You're Here" written during Lisa Jayne's battle with serious illness and the radio-friendly "Lifeboat". But throughout 'Lost Or Found' I had a growing conviction that Lisa is an impressive new talent destined for bigger things on the British scene. I'm glad I've found her.
