A Nashville recorded album released in Kingsway's Worship Leaders series - the first lady in the series no less. Lori Wilke sings 11 songs, most of them strong with memorable hooks. The voice is big, expressive, slightly abrasive and has just enough soul edge. Despite the Worship Leaders billing these are not songs for a congregation, they are a showcase for the singer. Arrangements are impeccable: orchestral backing from the Nashville String Machine complemented by a good pop rhythm section. There is a good mixture of upbeat music coupled with inspirational ballads and the vocalists and guest solos give that special touch of class to many of the tracks. One major lyrical theme was seeing Jesus in one another shine through clearly. I must admit though, I found it easier to be caught up in admiration for the musical arrangements than caught up in worship. However, pleasant singing, catchy riffs and a really slick production kept me listening.
