First observation is that on this EP Martin is funkier than on 'Movement One'. There is an acoustic and somewhat live-in-concert feel to it, with arrangements including something to tease the ear; for example the Christmassy xylophone on "Awake My Soul" or dramatic piano intro on "Catch Every Teardrop". These small but crucial details are, along with the honest, sincere lyrics, what make the listener pay attention throughout these long tracks. Especially "Safe In Your Arms" turns out to be a worship session which never stops. Yet another brilliant ear-teaser are the driving drums and guitar on "Fire Never Sleeps" and attention-grabbing vocal arrangements.
Unfortunately, one or two songs outstay their welcome - "Safe In Your Arms" especially goes on and on. But as usual, Smith's individualistic take on modern worship will keep you returning to this release.
