Taking a selection of some of the most popular tracks from a number of Sapp's previous recordings, this is a cracking addition to your gospel collection if you've missed out on his recent releases. Sapp's vocals are always instantly recognisable and it's a beautifully powerful collection of up-tempo, funky declarations ("Reign Jesus Reign"), soulful praise and worship ("Give Thanks", "Lord Send Your Anointing", "Close To You") and R&B ("For The Rest Of My Life"). It's testament to the production as well as Sapp's vocals that tracks recorded over 10 years ago have well and truly stood the test of time and it's easy to see why the "pastor with a gift for singing" has proved such a US chart success into the bargain. If you're a UK resident and this is first time you've come across the pastor of Lighthouse Church, Michigan, you might wince at all the marketing that seems to surround Sapp and his various enterprises. But if you can focus on the lyrics and the music, you'll be in for a treat.

Product Description

Marvin Sapp’s calling began in the early 90’s when he began singing with Fred Hammond and Commissioned.

However, his career truly exploded when he began recording his solo projects in the late 90’s which would inevitably lead to his breakout song Never Would Have Made It from the project Thirsty and the album debut of Here I Am at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, making it the highest charting album ever by a Gospel artist.
