The recording of Sapp's 'I Win' album came after a very difficult time for the singer/pastor, following the death of his wife in 2010. This experience is reflected on, directly or indirectly, in many of the song introductions on the DVD. The recording is a simple, no frills record of the evening without extras on the disc. Opening with the upbeat "Teach My Hands To War", Marvin is on top form. Other outstanding tracks include the reflective "My Testimony", the funky "Keep It Moving" and "Hymns Medley" which includes three Andrae Crouch songs (not often thought of as a hymn writer!). "More Than Ever" and the beautiful "Leaning" are additional tracks not on the CD, I would guess this is down to the concert length of 95 minutes, so requiring two audio discs to fit it all on. The DVD is a good quality record of the night but apart from the extra tracks, the lack of extras and 'sparkle' in the visual experience makes it more a "CD with video" rather than an essential DVD purchase.

Product Description

The DVD to accompany the CD release from one of the most recognisable voices in Gospel music.

A huge part of Marvin Sapp’s appeal has been his ability to tap into his own personal pain and weave a heart-touching song that speaks to the masses. such was the story with his mega-hit song Never Would have made it and the follow-up Best in Me. In the midst of those waves of success, he suffered another painful loss when his wife passed away.

Marvin’s last two albums, Thirsty and Here I am have combined sales of over 1.2 million units. Here I Am was the highest charting Gospel release in soundscan history.
