It isn't often that a band you have never heard of completely floor you with the quality of their music the very first time that you listen to it, but that is the effect that this CD had on me. Each successive track of the 11 on the album was like turning a corner and seeing a whole new vista before your eyes. The album has a very "retro" feel to it for me, it reminded me of the '70s - I'm old enough to remember the good rock music of the '70s and this is in that genre. However, don't make the mistake of thinking that this is all derivative stuff; there is some groundbreaking material here and the arrangements and the production are purely now. The singer has a superb rock voice, which is full of emotion and passion that communicates the Christian truth of the songs very powerfully. Listen to the track "Water Into Wine", which for me is the best track on an album full of best tracks and feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up as the band plead with Jesus to fill them again. The lyrics reflect the feelings of God's people, "Wake Me" echoing the desire of many of our hearts to be closer to God in our daily walk with the truth of God at the centre of our lives. "One Kind" is a reminder of the need that each of us has for Jesus, whether we are a "rich man, poor man or a good man". This is an album full of gems. Move heaven and earth to obtain it, and when you have got it play it loud, play it often, play it! Throw away show, live the truth.
