'Safe Place' indeed. Those with cutting edge music hang-ups could easily dismiss an album which slots so effortlessly into the pop-cum-easy-listening formats of US Christian Radio. But they'd be missing the point. For there is so much songwriting craft, excellent production and such an attractive, sinuous voice on offer here, that observations that 'Safe Place' is a tried and tested format are irrelevant. In fact the more you listen to Ms Wagner, who in the States is carving out an excellent CCM niche for herself, the more you hear a voice which though a tad short of distinctiveness has appeal a plenty. Some of her tone and phrasing reminds me of Kelly Willard (no bad thing)!) while her real forte is the reflective ballad, of which 'Grace Will Let Go' is my favorite. If your ears are attuned to classy US CCM, here's an album you'll enjoy. and be blessed by.

I have this cd, the third cd release by Michele. The first song on cd "Safe, Safe Place" (used for cd title); is just great ccm style and lyrics. The avid listener of ccm will hear a reflection of Michael W. Smith's " Rocketown" melody on the song "Reality is YOU". I really like "Grace Will Let Go"; great ccm sound!! Michele wrote "Grace...." & others, with a prolific songwriter Dwight Liles. So many ccm artists have recorded his wonderfully penned songs, to include ccm vet Steve Archer. Michele delivers nice and strong vocals for "HE Knows". Rob Frazier and Cindy Morgan add their background vocals on "Face to Face"; a favorite. "Change" is another notable song, written by Michele and Dwight Liles. "Is it Time?" is a song for now, especially the line,"Is it time to see JESUS come again?" GOD Bless! -Don
