Reviewed by Trevor Kirk If you can’t come to terms with the hootin’ and hollerin’ gospel choirs that seem to pop out of the woodwork everywhere you look in the USA, and you like you praise and worship with an urban groove, you might like to investigate this one, the latest in Integrity’s “…In The House” series. As with “Worship/Praise/Shout In The House”, the Motor City Mass Choir do the honours vocally, with a variety of lead vocalists, and the production skills and pumping bass of Fred Hammond ensure this is not just another black gospel choir album. The material is standard Hosanna! Music p&w, penned by most of the well known names on the roster (Sadler, Moen, Christensen, Baloche), and the whole thing is impeccably produced, mixed and presented in typical Integrity fashion. My only quibble is that it’s a tad clinical; if you like you urban gospel on the down and dirty side, you might be disappointed.
