Reviewed by Paul A Harris The six-piece New Attitude Band debut with their six-track, 21-minute EP - an expression of worship "for the audience of One". Geared to 18-29 aged ears, but any aged hearts, this is passionate stuff, sung with conviction, and well produced. Lead, Shannon Harris, sings like a combination of Lou Fellingham and Leigh Bingham. The band fit a USA niche aka Soul Survivor band Phatfish. Primarily, they like to be known as part of their local church's worship team (Virginia USA), but you don't have to listen for long to appreciate that they too can take the lead at conferences (which they annually do). Their church is part of the PDI stable and they cover songs from the same, including three from Mark Altrogge (remember Stoneleigh's version of "We Sing Your Mercies"?). In the middle of most songs is an electric guitar riff, which works well, but sounds less like a "British" set. However, Paul Oakley's "Jesus Lover Of My Soul" atmospherically sees out the album with a gem of a version which the Brighton boy himself would, I'm sure, be proud of. Entertainment? No. Abandonment? Yes (deep in worship).
