They've sold millions of albums, recorded in three decades and Petra's latest release shows that old age hasn't mellowed them! The secret? A regular influx of new blood. Founder member Bob Hartman is no longer in the live line up of the band but 'No Doubt' shows that his successor David Lichens knows how to make a joyful noise unto the Lord on his guitar! Hartman continues to write the songs and as usual these are songs that inspire faith and leave you with no doubt that Petra want to sing and shout the gospel. Anthemic rockers that will clear the ear wax or rock ballads that will touch your hearts, like its two predecessors, this album delivers both. With John and Dino Elefante once more producing you know it's a state of the art sound. Not a major leap forward for the band, more a continuation of a successful formula. But then, you weren't expecting Petra to join the ranks of sanctified dance were you?

I call it incredible talent if a band can always experiment with its sound and yet still be totally recognisable as who they are! Here with No Doubt Petra have adopted what seems to me a far more youth oriented style of teen rock. And for me, it works so very well indeed. There are still the four beautiful ballads, No Doubt and We Hold Our Hearts out To You are particularly beautiful tracks, and the simple yet very warming message of For All You're Worth is a delight to behold. The simple thankful offering of Sincerely Yours too is something special.

But the rockers here are of a very high degree. And I do not believe for a moment that the drums on this album have been mixed very low. Enter In And Think Twice immediately encourage and blow your head off. Two Are Better than One actually has a very poignant message which many Christians should take off and apply to themselves. The guitar work on Heart of A Hero is incredible! What riffs! And again there seems to be no end to the vocal power of John Schlitt. My favourite track is the awesome truth of More Than A Thousand Words, this is such a life statement for me. It's like Bob Hartman got right inside my brain with this song. This altogether is another Petra success story.

I got this album back when it first came out.... I was working for a missionary organisation in the Rep of Panama... I'd recently torn ligaments while teaching PE to high school kids.

I must admit it was quite a change from what I'd gotten used to from Petra... but bedridden for a week... I got to listen to it lots and now count it as one of my all time favorites... A must buy for any Petra fan... or.. anyone who wants music that will touch your heart n rock your soul! :)
