A handy compilation which neatly repackages most of their favourites (but misses my all time favourite, "Judas Kiss" from 'Not Of This World'). It begins with a cut from 'Washes Whiter Than', the 1979 album recorded just before Rob Frazier left the band and ends with "All Fired Up" and "First Love" from 1978's 'On Fire!', their last album for Star Song and therefore the last one represented here. Clearly the band have made some of the best rock to come out of Christendom and from those folk rock early days to the techno-rock period of 'Beat The System' through to the guitar-driven AOR which become their trademark, there's much here to delight the nostalgists and maybe earn a few more fans.

I have this cd in my ccm collection, along with many other Petra vinyl and cds. Yes, this is a great collection of songs. "The Coloring Song", "More Power To Ya" among faves. I was kinda disappointed that this collection omitted the song "GOD Pleaser". I never got to see them in concert, only Greg Volz. Greg sang to soundrax, and one he did was "More Power To Ya". This pioneer band of ccm gave years of memorable songs which will never grow old. I cannot think of any other ccm artist/group, that had great detailed cover art for their album covers; even when cd's arrived.. Petra still released projects with great artwork included: I recall the cd "Petra Means Rock". When it's time to go, it's time to go; and with that the group disbanded. Thankx and GOD Bless! -Don
