A better name for this band would be Blind Optimism. Although I applaud their sense of purpose in standing up for the gospel, it is my job to review the content of this cassette. Where do I start? It sounds more like a band practice than a demo tape: in production and execution. The songs - those I did hear between short guitar intros and talking - were terribly loose, indistinct and badly written. The album title seems to be saying that this band is on a par with the likes of Nirvana: well, I'm afraid that Nirvana could write and play good songs - even if you don't happen to agree with the lyrics. So here's the reality shock: this isn't Bill And Ted; you can't expect any A&R man to even listen past the first few seconds of this tape. If this band really wants to be taken seriously, then they are going to have to practice very hard, individually and as a band; learn the craft of song writing; and when they record an album, think carefully about the overall sound and musical direction. I'm afraid I cannot recommend this album. It's all very well to have laudable goals, but when you're working for the Kingdom of God, 100 per cent is the minimum requirement!
