A Best Of compilation which creates quite an impact thanks to Rich's creative consistency down through the years. It's fascinating to hear him on those early recordings and '81's "Sing Your Praise To The Lord" has dated less than the Amy Grant cover while his "Awesome God" ('88) is a praise and worship classic. It was of course when Rich discovered his Celtic roots and the Ragamuffin Band that he moved into creative overdrive and that period is generously represented on the 16 tracks here. There's one new recording, a haunting "We Are Not As Strong As We Think We Are" and this compilation should be heard by all those yet to discover the deft songwriting gifts and passionate spirituality of one of America's finest.

What a fantastic collection of songs by a brilliant, top notch songwriter/musician. The cd starter is that top hit for ccm songstress Amy Grant in 1982; Rich did a fair recording of the song. Then comes the songs we are all so familiar with by Rich like "Awesome GOD"; this has got to be one of Rich's all time top signatures. I just luv "Sometimes by Step" and the cd closer "Hold Me JESUS";who doesn't luv and connect with this song! I favor the original recording of "Elijah" from his 1986 debut. I absolutely luv "Calling out YOUR Name"; have Rich singing this on a live concert:top notch performance!! "Let Mercy Lead" is another favorite tune. In 2003 hurricane Isabella hit our area; the tune "Verge of a Miracle" played on ccm airwaves; it definitely was a miracle, we had very little damage!! GOD is Good!! Rich's songs still make huge impact!!GOD Bless! -Don
