Richard is still best known for "Kyrie" and "Broken Wings" wilh Mr Mister and has been unheard on these shores for the whole of the '90s up 'til now (follow up band 3rd Matinee was available on import but impossible to get hold of). Now he returns to Ihe scene with an album ihat takes the more intimate acoustic sound of Mr Mister's "Go On" several stages further. Acoustic guitar and piano coupled with RP'.s smoky soulful voice take centre stage for most of the tracks to create a fragile ambience that is perfect for late night listening. The resolute nature of the lyrics on "Go On" have largely been replaced by expressions of uncertainty and need but there is still a spiritual content in many of the songs, even if it is in the form of lyrics which could be seen as either to a girlfriend or to God. The album ends in fact with a break from the rest of it with Stevie Wonder's much covered "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away" being turned into a gospel-influenced romp with Richard Page testifying "I can feel his Spirit."
