Long term heavy metallers will know Saint as one of the groundbreaking bands of the early Christian metal era. Now they have returned with a concept project based on the book of Revelation. Although that was a great concept this project was let down by poor delivery. There isn't really much that can be said about the lyrics of this CD as all of them are pretty well taken directly from the book of Revelation. As with many of the bands still working in the field of old style classic metal, the riffs are pretty familiar, there are plenty of glass breaking vocals with room for screaming guitar leads. The song I most liked was "He Reigns" which was more of a worship song and the only one which moved slightly away from the metal template of yesteryear. Another thing which let this project down was a poor mix with a muddy sound suggesting a cheap studio recording. It's great to see pioneers like Saint still doing their stuff but in truth their stylised metal today seems increasingly a bit of an anachronism.
