This four piece have been together for four years building up a reputation in the clubs of Orange County, California before Word snapped them up for this their debut album. It would be nice to be able to classify the sound of Skypark, but it defies being pigeon-holed. The band quote influences ranging from Stevie Wonder, through The Choir and U2 to King's X, though the sound falls between Counting Crowes, Lenny Kravitz and The Black Crows. The lyrics take the approach of showing how things are without God and cover such topics as self image, drugs and relationships. The final song sums up Skypark's answer to all this, with the lyric "But the one thing that I know/ Christ will save you". If this sounds a little too heavy, 'Am I Pretty?' has a sense of humour and enough twists and turns to keep the most jaded listener hooked to the end of the last song.
