Straightaway this album is different. Recorded in Spanish and English, 'Eres Real/So Real' stemmed from the mission work Jessica Smith-Wright's church does in Central America. The songs were written in 2002 and released in English that year, but this combined language album was released in 2005. Described as "diverse and deep" on her website, the music ranges from rock to ballad: "Modern worship, Christian music" as the strap to her website declares. I liked all seven tracks (which are recorded first in Spanish and then repeated on the album in English). I loved the feel of the music. It reminded me a little of Nashville CCM's Plumb. Others have likened Jessica Smith-Wright (the singer/songwriter) in her rock-vein to Jennifer Knapp and Michelle Branch and in her classically inspired piano-based songs to Sarah McLachlan and Vanessa Carlton. Backed by seven great musicians, including the former rhythm section of that much missed rock band Scarecrow And Tinmen, the album is easy on the ear and uplifts the spirit.
