"Hymns Of Benediction At Day's End Featuring Saint Michael's Singers, conducted by Paul Leddington Wright" runs the subtitle and that is indeed what we get in this addition to Kingsway's Cathedral Classics series. (The cathedral in question is Coventry, if you were wondering.) All the obvious titles are present and correct, from the opening "The Day Thou Gavest Lord Is Ended" to "Abide With Me" and "May The Grace Of Christ Our Saviour" at the end. There are 12 hymns in all and if there are no surprises in the selection some of the arrangements are interesting enough to demand a closer listen without detracting from the beautiful singing of some truly inspiring words.
