This debut five-track CD was produced by Chris Smith and Nic Burrows of up and coming pop team Rain. The result is a poppy, grown up sound with the strength of Steve's songwriting neatly underpinned by a solid production sound. Vocally, there's a bit of soul mixed into his singing which is often reminiscent of another local boy, Chris Eaton. No bad thing really! The up tempo "Hold Me In Your Arms", with its inherent catchiness, immediately grabs attention and when it comes to the slower material, "Remember My Love" has a brooding feel that makes me keep returning to the song. Lyrically, Steve has plenty to say and this is an excellent introduction.
