Proving that what goes round comes round even quicker these days, this remix/rerelease of a classic gospel dance tune gives you another chance to enjoy Candi Staton's sanctified vocal. Included are the original mixes which were a hit when first released. Still vibrant and fresh. La Staton's vulnerable vocal does the business. However, the real business is the four new mixes. The two New Voyager mixes extend the song's musical power by giving it a grander feel creating climaxes and chilled out ethereal passages that were lacking on the original. The result? Stonking! The Rhythm Masters classic vocal mix is not acappella as you'd imagine but features a huge kickin' neo jungle drum loop over which a swirling sequenced synth motif and minimal bass provide backing for Candi. Stripped down, simple but deadly! Farley and Heller's Roachin' In The Bassbin Mix takes a more housey approach again with plenty of thunderous beats and samples of Candi to build up the intensity. Even at full volume on my stereo, there's still something missing, oh yeah! A huge sound system. This is one that'll get them going out there!
