The second Voices album from this Dallas-based megachurch team includes 10 live worship songs with accompanying DVD featuring the voice of Neil Diamond sound-alike worship pastor Thomas Miller. The first three tracks are resounding declarations of God's pre-eminence, with "The Lord Reigns" especially noteworthy due to audience participation, as the words "let the people shout" and "clap their hands" produce a lively reaction. A gentler song, "Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King" is an adaptation of Robert Robinson's classic 18th century hymn. The newly penned second verse is repeated beautifully at the close as the audience joins Thomas and the team in singing, "Now your grace is always with me/And I'll never be alone." In "God Of My Days" the worship team gives Thomas impressive backing and he matches their musical precision with his vocal incisiveness. The hauntingly powerful "New Doxology", adapted from the Genevan Psalter, builds momentum with instrumental, percussive and vocal support which fades out atmospherically at the end. "The Whole Earth" is an impressive and appropriate final track as Thomas 'Diamond' Miller allows his distinctive vocal repertoire to lift this anthem with the declaration "Holy is the Lord." This is a worthy successor to Kari Jobe's chart topping Voices album.
