The True Believers are one of the best loved acts in the black quartet scene having played the circuit in America for nearly 25 years. Based in South Bend, Indiana they have shared the stage with such luminaries as Al Green, The Winans and the formidable Clark Sisters.  It is unfortunate, therefore, that despite their longevity and sheer commitment to their music the True Believers have in essence made a record, (Time Ain't Long', surprisingly being only their second album to date) that lacks any kind of originality. The T.B.'s were either given a low budget for producing the album or deliberately tried to capture that 'live feeling' on vinyl. Their producer is the Rev Samuel Chase III who delivers a vocal not dissimilar to the great and currently incarcerated James Brown. This aside the True Believers give a stunning stage performance and will be one of those acts that will always have place in the heart of gospel.
