Ragga as raw as black eye steak. Cross Rhythms has long since sung the praises of Britain's best righteous rapper. Now he turns up with another blistering set of streetwise rhythms, his own rhythmically hypnotic rhymes and tracks which bring a fresh take to the stylised rhythms of ragga. I love the opener "Sos Sos Sos So" with its nonsensical chorus and its slowed-down voice on the opening and closing. I love those soulful Fiarnet Cross intoning "Jesus Is The Only Way" on that jaunty reggae riddim. And I love the Watchman's spiritual beligerence. As you may know, Watchman is one of the most radical, in-your-face gospel communicators and this is another album worthy of his talent.
