Keith & Kristyn Getty join with OMF to promote 1929-penned hymn

THE MODERN hymn writers Keith & Kristyn Getty have teamed up with OMF (formerly China Inland Mission) to introduce the hymn "Facing A Task Unfinished" "to a new generation." The hymn was written in 1929 by Frank Houghton, a China Inland Mission worker and Bishop Of Sichuan. It was to help bring encouragement to 200 fellow missionaries who were taking up the call of Matthew 24:14 to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. To the original words and music by Frank Houghton, new words and music have been added by Keith and Kristyn Getty, Ed Cash and Flonan de Barra "adding a new chorus in a way that suits a contemporary church worship band." Read an OMF statement, "We'd love your church to be involved by incorporating the song in their worship on 21st February 2016. You can listen to the song online and encourage your worship leaders and pastors to sign up on http://go.gettymusic.co/hkgz. When they do they will get the music scores and event resources they will need to lead the song." Getty Music/OMF are hoping that 10,000 churches using numerous languages across the globe will participate in the initiative. CR
