Andy used to be in the short lived acoustic worship outfit Circadean Rhythm. His solo is the kind of music that sounds pleasant in the background but, on a closer listen, fails to live up to its promise. Andy produces his own music and plays almost all of the instruments, so the eight songs found on 'I Stole The Morning Sun' are very personal products. He clearly wants to be like Damien Rice or Jeff Buckley and seems to have all the right ingredients. Emotional intensity and layered guitar sounds abound, but the lyrics lack the poetry or originality of a great songwriter and the melodies are too often obvious and uninspired. Standout track "Keep Your Body Broken" comes closest to achieving something more, but it is not enough to make the CD essential listening.
