With the honourable exception of the gifted and underrated Steve Parsons, the fair county of Cornwall has so far produced exceedingly few CCM talents. Now, as this self financed CD indicates, there is someone new answering the call to pick up his guitar and walk. Some of the 11 songs here (nine self composed) stay close to Scripture while others are clearly based on personal experience. The latter occasionally suffer from uneasy couplets ("And I've tried so often to live up to your will But I'd rather keep on looking for time to kill") while the arrangements, with programmed drums and a preponderance of guitars don't stray far from rudimentary. But this is still a project with an earnest sincerity with the ability to touch hearts.
