One of the surprise bookshop hits of recent times was the first volume of Rocky Kids. Though should we have been so surprised? For 20 or 30 years Dave has demonstrated his talents as one of the great behind-the-scenes figures in Christian music and anyone who can write hits for Cliff Richard clearly knows a thing or three about song hooks and catchy rhythms. Clearly Dave has decided that being a dad can be turned to creative use for here he demonstrates, just as he did with volume one, that he s got a winning way with bringing together all the elements that make for a good kids album - a determination not to talk down to the kids (something our American cousins often forget); a wide variety of musical styles; songs that communicate spiritual truth openly and honestly; and a zany sense of fun; to produce an album brimming over with good-time vibes. If you re looking for something new for the kids and can't wait any longer for the next Sammy Homer set, try this one.
