I've had many a stupefying experience with this long-running album series (it started life as Praise Strings) while browsing around Christian bookstores. Now, you're more likely to hear Rob & Gilly Bennett as today's inoffensive brand of Christian muzak. But things have changed at Maranatha. The seasoned Californian sessioners who play this stuff today, have got progressively less 'elevator music' down the years (on this set there's some tasty Hadley Hockensmith guitar) while the choruses are first rate. But if you do want these particular instrumentals you'd be better advised buying the Maranatha! Singers 'Praise 14' CD - you get the instrumentals thrown in at a no-extra-cost bonus!
