The banjo maestro has pulled together some fine bluegrass outfits over the many years he's plied his trade, and those who KNOW rate this about the best. Current chums are the superb Richard Bennett (guitar, lead vocal), Curt Chapman (bass) and Phil Leadbetter (dobro). Guest on this outing is fiddler extraordinaire Randy Howard, accompanist of Kathy Chiavolo. Some cracking gospel stuff here. Traditional material included "When The Angels Carry Me Home" and Lester Flatt's song "Bouquet In Heaven". Corny to UK ears maybe, but with undeniable charm and roots vitality. Blazing version of Dylan's "Nashville Skyline Rag" amongst the other highlights. Nice harmony, hot pickin' - the real stuff.
