Your reviewer tries to listen to material in the order in which it arrives with him but here he makes an exception.  Volume 24 of this outstanding series was next up when Volume 25 came through the letterbox.  Let it be said that Volume 24 maintains the same high standard that we have come to expect and move on to what is labelled the "Jubilee Edition" as it marks the half-way point in this noble project making the complete collection of cantatas available.  Strange to say but this would be a good starting point for those who have not yet tried any others in this series as there is a celebratory booklet giving background to the project as well as a full listing of what has gone before.  On this disc we have "Jesu, Der Mu Meine Seele, BWV 78", "Was Gott Tut, Das Ist Wohlgetan, BWV 99", and "Ach, lieben Christen, seid getrost, BWV 114".  Again we have to say that the performances are as good as ever.  Three of the soloists have been involved before but it is good to welcome the Canadian counter-tenor who has arrived in Japan via Glyndebourne.  Keep them coming, please!
